It was dark outside. So dark you couldn’t even see your hands in front of your face. There were no sounds out, unless you counted the eerie silence breaking through the impossible blackness. He couldn’t help himself from feeling like he was breathing too loudly. He was after all, excited for the night he was about to have. He hadn’t killed anyone in a while now and the anticipation was making his heart beat faster than was probably healthy. He didn’t care. There were more important things to do tonight… like drain someone of all their blood.
He heard scratching noises from inside the room. He was outside trying to remember not to make too much noise. It wasn’t something he was worried about his victim hearing. The phone line was already disconnected. Instead of cutting the line, he had unhooked it from the wall through the picked lock on the box. He didn’t want there to be suspicions of foul play all the way out here. A cell phone wouldn’t work out here, there wasn’t enough signal to pick up so much as one bar no matter where you walked.
He pulled out his lock pick, ready to open the door as soon as he heard the shower kick on. He quietly picked the lock and once it was open, he waited. The shower kicked on and he gave it a sec before opening the door and walking inside. He could hear the guy whistling from inside the shower, he was sure he would be hearing that song later tonight going through his head. His heart began pounding so hard he could feel it in his throat. He walked quietly through the house pulling the knife out of its case as he moved towards his target. A small creak happened as he crept up beside the door next to the bathroom. He froze immediately. He could still hear the whistling and knew that the guy in the shower hadn’t heard it.
He opened the door slowly, giving himself a second after every creak of the door to make sure the guy hadn’t heard him. He was reaching up for the curtain of the shower holding the knife in the other hand.
A loud crash came from the other side of the house, unmistakable from where he was, he knew the guy had heard it. The guy in the shower yanked open the shower curtain and stuck his head out curious about the noise staring right at him! He had shampoo in his hair and it was covering his eyes as well, he was just listening for more noise. He stuck his head back in to rinse his hair so he could get out and go investigate.
The killer decided not to attack just yet, he had no idea what that noise was. He snuck out of the bathroom and quietly walked down the hallway listening for any noise of someone else creaking the floor as he went. When he got to the end of the hallway, he peeked his head around the corner, he felt a sudden pop on the back of his head, and everything went black.
